Job Title: Machinist
Reports to: Production Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

The Machinist is responsible for producing parts according to work orders and/or blueprints.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operates various equipment, such as:
    • Vertical turret lathe
    • Radial arm drill
    • Spline mill
    • CNC machining center
    • Various measuring tools
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, and threading operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Reads blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions.
  • Moves product by operating an overhead crane, forklift, and pallet jack.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulation.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all other departments.
  • Regular and reliable attendance required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

INVOLVED IN THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic mechanical knowledge required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regularly lift 50 pounds
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks
  • Regularly walk, stand, push/pull, grasp, kneel, sit
  • Regularly possess the ability to use hands and body to complete tasks quickly and accurately
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work areas are exposed to all elements of weather, loud noise, and dusty conditions. Must be able to work safely with exposure to chemicals and machinery.
