Job Title: Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and coordination of the company’s equipment and facility repairs and assisting with the implementation and maintenance of the company’s safety program.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate, schedule and perform all preventive maintenance of production equipment and company buildings
  • Diagnose problems of production equipment and buildings for repair
  • Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment with Production Manager
  • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned
  • Communicate directly with the Production Department and Production Manager ensuring problems and tasks are addressed in a timely manner
  • Document and maintain all maintenance records
  • Maintain all Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records for the company
  • Assist with the employee safety and training program
  • Observe and analyze job environment for safety hazards
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
  • Maintain compliance with all city, state and federal regulations
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all other departments
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Ability to learn, interpret, comprehend and effectively apply local, state and federal laws and regulations
  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Ability to operate fork lift
  • Basic computer skills

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • AA, BS and/or technical education is preferred
  • One year of building and facility maintenance experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The person in this position needs to move about the facility, lift 60 pounds, climb ladders, and manage confined space entry.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work areas are exposed to all elements of weather, loud noise, and dusty conditions. Must be able to work safely with exposure to chemicals and machinery.
