Job Title: Accounting Supervisor

Reports to: Controller

FLSA: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for working closely with the Controller and assisting with the accounting activities of the department which include general accounting duties, overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively manages Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables.
  • Responsible for multi-state sales tax compliance and working with Avalara tax software management.
  • Prepare Iowa use tax returns and make quarterly deposits.
  • Enter monthly general ledger accruals and other journal entries.
  • Coordinate month-end closing procedures and prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Coordinate year-end closing procedures and work with outside Accounting Firm on annual audit of financial statements.
  • Support purchasing manager with providing financial information to meet inventory management goals.
  • Completion of special projects as assigned that assist with providing financial data to management team.
  • Prepares business activity reports as requested by Controller.
  • Ensures that the financial statements comply with generally accepted accounting principles and/or financial reporting standards.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The person in this position needs to move about the facility, may have prolonged periods sitting at desk, operates computer, and communicates with other team members. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

General work area will be in an office setting with minimal exposure to dust, noise, chemicals or machinery.
