Universal Waffle Center Update: Now Fewer Parts to Stock

Paired with waffle wheels, waffle centers add tremendous versatility to agricultural machinery. The bolted-in center disc can be installed in multiple configurations to achieve varying wheel offsets. Here’s why that’s helpful: Operators can narrow or widen the tractor’s stance to accommodate varying tasks, such as wider field operations, or navigating narrow barn doors.

Unmatched Versatility

For those who modify their equipment’s stance regularly, waffle wheels are a game-changing addition. Waffle wheels can be configured into eight different offsets and can be used on front or rear tires — or both. There are other adjustable wheel options available, but none as versatile. Power shift and slider wheels may suffice in certain circumstances, but waffle wheels use a bolted construction for added durability and offer a wider range of specific track settings, bringing more versatility to the table.

Waffle wheels have always been about convenience, and now they’re easier to stock and buy as well. Wold Rim & Wheel has simplified waffle center inventory for front-wheel-assist tractors. We’ve officially transitioned to a universal 29/32-inch bolt hole diameter that works for both 20mm and 22mm bolt or stud applications.

Historically, some 10- and 12-hole hubs used 20mm bolts or studs, while others used 22mm. To cover both, dealers often had to stock two different center discs in the same diameter and color — one with 7/8-inch bolt holes and one with 15/16-inch bolt holes. Farmers might have been sidelined for days if their dealer stocked the right diameter but the wrong bolt hole size. That’s now changed.

The result is a single waffle center that covers more tractors, while spanning fewer part numbers. We’re proud to have accomplished it without sacrificing fit or performance. After extensive testing, we can ensure this change hasn’t resulted in any loss in performance.

Moving Forward

Dealers can now stock one center disc hole pattern, diameter and color instead of two, making inventory management easier and response times faster. The result is less complexity, but with the same Wold fit and strength.
