1. What is the make and model of the machine?

The make and model are the foundation of everything. If you take the tire off the machine and bring it in, make sure you note the exact make and model of equipment it came off of. That way, you can make sure to get the correct parts match.

2. What is the exact tire size?

Rims that are heavily damaged are difficult to measure accurately. Knowing the specific tire size going onto that rim (e.g., a 480/80R46) removes room for error due to incorrect measurements.

3. Are you keeping the same size of wheel or rim?

If you’re switching configurations, such as moving away from flotation tires to a dedicated row-crop setup, the parts you need will differ.

4. What is the specific rim position?

Is it going on a front or rear tire? Is it a dual rim setup, or the inner primary rim? Pinpointing the exact tractor rim position ensures proper clearance and spacing.

5. What is the bolt pattern?

Count the number of bolt holes on your tractor wheel centers. For larger patterns, a tape measure or caliper and a partner might be necessary to help get an accurate measurement.

6. What color do you actually need?

Knowing you need yellow is great, but knowing you need Industrial yellow is better. Confirming the exact manufacturer color matters. With multiple different yellows available, such as New Holland Yellow, Industrial Yellow, Cat Yellow and Federal Yellow, the right color makes a world of difference.

7. Can you take a picture?
